Kuba Cloth Cushions

Rich, earthy and wonderfully tactile, these gorgeous Kuba cloth cushions were originally purchased from Bailey’s Home Store. Beautiful pieces to bring another layer of texture and soul to a home, with hand stitching that deserves a closer look.

Kuba cloth comes from the Kuba peoples of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where raffia palm fibres are transformed into remarkable woven textiles. Historically treasured as ceremonial dress and symbols of wealth, these cloths belong to a rich heritage of making, artistry and individual expression.

The fun appliqué, carefully stitched edges and little variations in the weave give each cushion its own personality. Expressive and almost sculptural, they have that fabulous ability to make even the simplest chair feel special.

Gorgeous against relaxed linen, stunning on a timeworn leather sofa or layered on a bed for a sumptuous, collected feel. Enjoy one as a finishing touch, or gather them together for a little more drama.

Materials: Kuba Cloth Fronts and stone washed linen reverse in a buttery brown colour. Back opening (no fastening) with a soft feather insert.

Sold individually. Each cushion varies in its weave, stitching and finish. Please look closely at the photographs for its individual details. Cushion 2 is a lower price due to some front stitching coming undone.
