A glorious vintage wool kilim in shades of rose pink, coral and golden yellow, balanced with warm ivory and deep charcoal. Three statement diamond medallions trickle along its length, surrounded by smaller geometric motifs and beautifully patterned borders. Simply scrumptious!

The colours are what make this piece so special: pinks that shift from soft rose to warm salmon, threaded with flashes of saffron and ochre. Gentle variations across the wool give the surface depth and a wonderfully mellow, lived-in character.

Believed to be a Qashqai kilim from the Fars region of south-western Iran, around Shiraz, Roshan reflects the rich weaving heritage associated with Qashqai communities and their nomadic traditions. Kilims are flatwoven textiles, with coloured threads interlaced to create both the cloth and its intricate pattern, incredibly practical pieces that bring artistry into everyday life.

Handwoven from wool and thought to date from approximately 1950–1970, this individual piece carries the character of its maker and a life before this one.

At almost four metres long, Roshan is a substantial and striking kilim, beautiful in a generous hallway or bringing warmth and colour to a living space. A textile to live with, treasure and carry into its next chapter.
