Gorgeous, antique, Baluch saddlebags, originating from the tribal weaving regions of Agfghanistan and sating back to the early 20th century. Now enjoying a new chapter as exquisite cushions. The Zari cushions bring richness, texture and that dreamy feeling of a home gathered from far off lands.

Originating in Afghanistan, these pieces retain beautiful details from their earlier life: from the braided closure loops to their beautifully woven backs. Traditional bags like these were made to hold and carry everyday belongings, with remarkable care devoted to objects that were part of daily life, and made to last for lifetimes.

Their full journeys remain a mystery, but the craftsmanship is there to admire. A tactile woollen surface, intricate handworked details and small variations give each cushion its own personality. Beautiful companions, each with something slightly different to say.

Fab on a generous sofa, layered with linen on a bed or taking pride of place in a favourite chair. For something really special, a wooden pole or dowel could be threaded through the surviving loops and securely mounted behind a bed to create a gorgeous textile headboard, provided the loops are sound enough to support the cushions. How dreamy would the pair look side by side?!
